Trained Horses & Training Method Bernard's horses are trained with great care and awareness for their needs. He knows that horses can only perform at their best when both riders and their horses feel comfortable in their body and in their mind. The care for their body and their mind is strongly influenced by my approach and my assistance, when I can get there. Bernard's horses are trained with a minimum use of force by the method clearly recommended by Maître Michel Henriquet in his latest book "Gymnase et Dressage." For a while, Docteur Catherine Durand-Henriquet, 1992 Olympic candidate, came twice a year to teach clinics at Bernard's place. Allyance is a Russian Holsteiner Gelding initially trained for 4 years by Maître Michel Henriquet and Catherine. He is featured in their video "Gymnase and Dressage" at 3 years of advanced Dressage training. There he displays a promising future as a Grand Prix Horse. My brother bought him in 1997 and continued his training. In August 1998, I had the privilege to spend ten days in Itu while Maître Henriquet was teaching a clinic. Allyance, ridden by my brother's écuyer Donizeti Bicudo, showed us the start of a highly promising Piaffe. Since August 1999, Allyance has become a confirmed Grand Prix performer. |
